There are many ways of winding up in a rut. Whether, it’s because of a single tragic episode or a series of little things that add up to something over time, we wind up in a “bad place”.

There is one sure way out however. We have to embrace the power of positive thinking. I know it’s hard, but you have to do it.

Some of us live our lives filled with incredible anger, hurt, and negativity. Our experiences leave us jaded and cynical, oftentimes dragging others down with us along the way. Though we don’t want to be this dark and despondent person, we just can’t help it at times. The pain we’ve endured is just too unbearable to let go. Then we notice, nothing good ever happens to us. Our life worsens every single day and we’re caught in this lethal downward spiral that we can’t get out of.

The truth of the matter is that we can get out of this rut that we’re stuck in. The problem is, we sometimes get too caught up in our own misery that we don’t notice the little miracles happening around us. This dark, dank, and dreary place has blinded us from seeing the good that is happening right in front of us. Get out of this dungeon and open the door that leads outside where the sun lights the way to a positive perspective.

Once we get to this place where we can just leave all of the circumstances in our life and our affairs in the hands of our personal faith and of what opportunities can offer, we can rest assured that everything is going to be okay. We know deep within our hearts and souls that this has proven to be true in the past.

We must have the motivation to make our lives different. We must inspire ourselves to do something other than what repeatedly hasn’t worked in the past. It is an act of thinking that everything works out to make us a better person. Motivation sets forth a series of miracles if we get it in our heart’s core. We must apply all these factors in our lives to rid ourselves of poverty, tensions and scarcity.

There can be a number of ways to get success or to achieve goals, but achieving it is entirely up to us. Motivation can change a man’s mind, and by looking at it in a positive light can bring a kind of hope that changes circumstances for the better. We can change our lives in so many ways, and all we must do is believe in ourselves to make things better. When we thirst for success and happiness, we will be able to see how miracles can happen. What usually stops us is our being too calculated. We depend on science and logic so much that we discount the many things that just seem to happen for no apparent reason. We look for justifications and our logical side just stops us from expecting something out of the ordinary.

Logic has successfully explained numerous phenomena, but there are still aspects that go beyond reason. We have to accept the fact that things often happen for reasons that we simply can’t explain. Be it in our faith or in our ability to just let go, we need to realize that we also deserve the good things that others are experiencing.

My only suggestion is to try it, because it has proven to be right in a number of individuals. After all, what have you got to lose? Nothing! But you can gain everything from this wonderful experience.

Controlling Your Mind – Avoiding Negative Thoughts and Concentrating on Positive Thinking

How can you control your thoughts? If you find it hard to stop yourself from thinking about something, then this is an extremely difficult task to do. You can constantly tell yourself to stop acting on a thought, but to actually stop thinking about something, now that’s another story altogether. Your thoughts are more powerful than you’ll know. When you constantly think about something, you’re veering your life towards that direction. You pattern your actions according to what is on your mind. Therefore, if you constantly have a negative attitude towards everything, you’ll end up being known as the person with a dour disposition. Not a pleasant thought now, is it?

The skill of being able to control your mind is simply an act of constant practice. Much like your health, you frequently need exercise to attain your ideal weight. This is not something that can be done overnight. After all, it requires a change of your outlook in life and a readjustment of your personality. Whenever an unwanted thought comes to your mind, simply stop yourself from thinking about it any further. Then, you have to shift your focus elsewhere. Watching television or reading a book helps greatly especially if you need to stop it immediately. Some people believe that making oneself tired from thinking about an unwanted thought helps a lot in kicking the habit. What this means is that you have to come up with a mode of punishment every single time you do something that goes against your ultimate goal. Try this, whenever you find yourself thinking about something unpleasant, mark it on a piece of paper. Mount the paper on a wall and go to it every time you break your word. You’ll soon find it a great inconvenience whenever you have to stand up, walk over to that piece of paper to mark it. This, of course, is not an easy task, but it will give you the extra boost you’ll need to actually make an effort.

Remember, all your problems last only as long as you allow them. Yes, getting rid of your negative thoughts requires a lot of patience, but if you actually make the effort to change your way of thinking, you’ll soon find yourself being the master of your thoughts and of your emotions. Many of the successful people have done this. In fact, they have attained their goals in life simply because they were able to shift their focus to something more productive.

So, take control of your mind. Stop focusing and dwelling on your problems and on the pain that others have inflicted on you. It’s time to love yourself above all else and acknowledge where you are in your life at this very moment. Refuse to think about the past and plan for your future. After all, your future is what you make of it. As long as you go through things with a positive thought in your mind, your future can be as happy as you want it to be. You are who you think you are and you will be who you will yourself to be. Think about it!

Moving Forward – Moving Up

When people ask us what we’d do if we only had a week to live, we would give so many answers. Most of these answers would center on making ourselves better as a person. We’ll ask for forgiveness, we’ll travel the world, and so on and so forth. But that’s just as far as it goes. We say all these things that we would want to do and give no thought as to how real the question could be.

Then, we find ourselves waking up one day not knowing where we’re exactly headed in life. Our relationships with others require love and respect. Why can’t we give the same to ourselves? We need to know what we’re worth and what we deserve so that we are more driven to do what we’ve always wanted.

To move up in life, to keep a steady growth, we need to follow a few simple rules:

• We have to set goals that are important to us. By setting a goal, we have something to look forward to, a driving force that will fuel or energize us. We need something to sustain our hunger or else we will find everything we do is futile.

• We need to trust in our own abilities. The notion that the grass is always greener in the other side is much like a death sentence. We shouldn’t compare what we have to what others have. All people are different; each of us unique unto ourselves. Don’t mind those people who constantly criticize us. A positive mind is the ticket to a successful journey.

Learn the power of meditation. Keeping our souls healthy can be beneficial to both our minds and bodies. By learning to channel our focus to something, we will be able to see things in a clearer light. A cool head does better in solving problems than a hot one.

Send those negative thoughts out the door. Negativity has never gotten anyone further. In fact, these thoughts can be our life’s biggest roadblock. Negative thoughts attract negative outcomes. It’s a vicious cycle that we all need to get out of. We all have the ability to get of this rut, raise ourselves up, and begin our journey.

Love ourselves. No one loves a person who doesn’t love himself. We need to learn how to be thankful for what we have and who we are. By knowing what we can do and believing in our abilities, we will always have the strength to drive forward.

By knowing what is good in each of us is not being egotistical. We don’t have to brag about it. The glow in our faces will be proof enough of how happy we are with the cards that life has dealt us with. For us to succeed and move up, we have to life free of regrets. Being proud of who we are will prove to be good for our psyche. As long as we live in harmony with ourselves, we are bound to fulfill our destiny.

Here’s a quick introduction to affirmations. Essentially, affirmations are positive self-talks that help us get through moments of self-doubt, keep us on the path we’ve chosen and generally us us “order” what we want from the universe.

Using Positive Self-Talk to Conquer Any Goal

Do you feel like you are always talking yourself out of success? As soon as you start to set goals for yourself, do you suddenly have nagging thoughts about how you aren’t up to the task or how you simply aren’t qualified to carry it through?

If you have ever experienced either situation, you need to change the way you respond to your inner dialogue. Instead of obeying your negative commands, you can use positive self-talk to counter the negativity and overcome nearly all anxious thoughts.

Setting Goals and Sticking to Them with Positive Self-Talk

Are you initially filled with excitement when you first set goals for yourself? Are these thoughts then followed by self-doubt and self-defeating thoughts that stop you in your tracks before you even get started?

It can be difficult to make the most of your life when you are constantly talking yourself out of being a success. It can be frustrating and discouraging to have these thoughts constantly plaguing you. Many of us, in fact, don’t even realize we have them! All we know is that we don’t have the confidence to stick to our plans and reach our goals.

But there’s another way!

Positive self-talk is an effective way to set goals and ensure that you stick to them, even if you have never been able to do this before. The way this works is that you decide what goal is important to you, and then you plan the logistics of how you are going to attain this goal. When self-doubt starts kicking in, you will respond with affirmations that prove your success without surrendering to the negative pressure. Since you’re reading this article, it’s clear that you’re no quitter and you’re certainly not a failure, so start believing in yourself!

Re-Programming Your Mind

Affirmations are essentially positive statements that re-program your mind for the positive. The moment you have a self-defeating thought you’d be able to counter the negative with a motivating statement. An example of a positive affirmation is: “I am worthy of great success,” or “I see myself in the winner’s circle.” What this does is replace negativity with thoughts that will help you move toward your goals instead of further away from them.

Positive self-talk is easier to implement than you might think. You may not be aware of the severity of the negative dialogue currently within your mind. However, once you begin with positive self-talk, you will suddenly realize that you are self-sabotaging the goals you set for yourself from the minute that you make them. This process can open your eyes to exactly how much this inner conversation has been interfering with your life. You’ll feel hopeful that you can now set goals and surpass them.

Through positive self-talk you will be able easily set long and short-term goals for yourself. And when you use affirmations, you’ll have accessible tools to help you push yourself further than ever before. Learning to quiet negativity with positive thoughts is a great move toward setting and attaining future goals with ease.

Stay tuned for much more on affirmations. They are a powerful tool as you will see.

The Reality behind the Law of Attraction

Life always has a way of working out. The recent success of books like The Secret and The Law of Attraction can credit the people’s enthusiasm to its increase in sales. However, many also mistake the practice this law. They’ve misconstrued the general message of these books and have led themselves to believe that they simply have to sit back, relax, and think about what they want with their lives.

As far as I’m concerned, I believe that the law can only be put to good use with action on our part. I do believe that the universe works with us when we strive to achieve all our dreams. But, it can only nudge destiny towards our way. The rest is up to us, whether we choose to meet it halfway or not. After all, no one rewards the lazy.

If we made an inventory of all the successful individuals in this world, we’ll realize that each of them went through hell and high water just to be where they are today. Whoever said that the path to success was easy couldn’t have been further from the truth. In reality, to reach our goal, we’ll have to ready ourselves with the hurdles we’ll face along the way. It’s now simply a question of how badly we want the dream to become a reality.

As go through the hole-ridden path, we sometimes will stumble along the way. We court failure when we have the kind of self-defeating attitude that leads us to believe that the more we’ll fall, the harder it’ll be to get back up. This is a shortcut to sabotaging our dreams. It’s when we shift our focus to become pessimistic that we doom ourselves to failure.

Instead of thinking of what we don’t want to happen, we should think of what we want. Putting words like don’t or no in our statement is an indication of where our focus is, and that is in the negative. On the other hand, if we make claims about things that we yet have to achieve, this can also be seen as a lie.
Positive thinking is based on the belief we WILL get what we want and that we are in the process of fulfilling our dreams. We’ve all heard of the term self-fulfilling prophecy. It is in believing that good things will come to us because we’ve already started to fashion our lives according to our personal desires.

This article, in no way, claims that success can only be measured through our monetary achievement. Winning comes in all forms and in every aspect of our lives. Be it with our personal or career paths, we can only truly say that we’ve won if, at the end of the day, we go to sleep with a happy and content heart. We truly have to understand what the law of attraction is.

Simply put, it is accepting the fact that we can do what we want and that anything is possible if we work at it. Something good can happen to us today and the miracle is already set to unfold if we open the doors to opportunities that will make us happy.

My Self Improvement Philosophy or Thoughts On Personal Development

Problems can never be avoided and sadly, they always get the better of us. As much as we would like to pull our hair out and wail like a child, we keep all the anger bottled deep down inside. Then, we try to move forward and mask the issues with a calm facade. We all know that this is the last thing we should do.

Stress is everywhere and we cannot live our entire adult lives like children, free of cares and worries. As we enter into the real world and live our lives as adults should, we will encounter things that we may not always like, we will meet people that we may not take to, or we miss out on the fun simply because we have to take care of other needs first. Whatever the reason is, it’s not too difficult to find a reason to frown.

What most of us take for granted are the good things that we encounter as we move forward with our lives. We’re simply so preoccupied with the bad things that we often forget to look at the good. We count all our misfortunes; keep track of all our failures.

We need to remember what we live for, lest we become bitter human beings. Avoiding problems is all very well in theory, but many of us have worries that we simply can’t resolve, and statistics reveal that one in every twenty people suffer from panic attacks.

The idea here is not to attain permanent happiness. We all know that we will stumble along the way as we learn life’s lessons. This article, for all intents and purposes, is meant to teach you how to deal with the issues that we face so that by the end of the day, we can still give ourselves a pat on the back and say that we are happy with our lives despite all the negativity happening around us. Here are just a few things we might want to keep in mind should we feel overwhelmed at everything happening to us:

1. Avoid situations that aggravate anger – this is a classic case of fight or flight. If we see ourselves heading towards a dark corner of the street, we simply have to turn around and take another route. Unfortunately, not every situation offers us a way out. When we have to deal with a difficult boss or a stubborn colleague, we cannot always solve the situation by going the other way. The best solution to this is to have something that helps soothe our nerves – a stress ball, some exercise, a few minutes to ourselves, or anything that gets us to shift our momentary unease.

2. Reprogram your mind – there are several books in leading bookstores that offer us guidelines. These reading materials have been helpful to many, and knowing that these are “experts” sharing their views, it somehow reassures us to know that they are knowledgeable with what they are talking about.

4. Think positive – as simple as this sounds, the task can be daunting. It’s especially difficult when we come face to face with something that we simply do not like. The trick here is to exercise out minds. It is only through practice that we can perfect this skill.

In the end, we have to know that we’ll survive. Life isn’t always about winning. Most of the time, it’s about getting up when we’re down. It’s the ability to continue and move forward as we go through life’s processes. Know that problems don’t kill us. We are in control of things of our destiny, and if we let these inconveniences get in the way, then we definitely will lose. We always have a choice, and we should always choose to be good to ourselves.

Staying productive during rough patches is the true test. Here are 7 ways to maintain your committment to productivity even when life gets tough.

Being Productive Despite Your Workload

We all have goals that we want to achieve, dreams that we want to attain. Our goals differ from each other, but reaching these may not be as easy as it looks. Yes, you have the perfect work attitude, and yes, also know how to prioritize. There are, however, some things in life that you just cannot control.

A sudden blackout may hinder you from completing your work, or an important family gathering may require you to let go of all your chores. What do you do when this time comes? Do you blame the things you cannot control for your failures? While this may be the easy way out, it is far from being right.

Life is made up of two types of people: the positive and the negative. The positive tend to win all the time because they also take responsibility for their failures by embracing them. The negative, on the other hand, simply walk away and point their finger at everyone but themselves.

How do you win in life? How do you become a productive person while being able to keep a very busy work schedule? The first thing you must know and accept is that you simply cannot win every time. It’s what you do when you fail that counts. Here are some helpful tips to know and follow so that you can go through trials and misfortunes as smoothly as possible:

1. Don’t blame other people for your failure – to blame them is to pass on your responsibilities. This is tantamount to throwing your arms up in the air and saying, “I give up!”

2. When problems arise, deal with them accordingly – plan what you need to do. Ask for help if you need to and let failures serve as lessons learned.

3. Never forget – remember what caused you to create the mistake in the first place. Keep these in mind and avoid situations wherein you’ll be forced to make the same mistake twice.

4. Never let anything stop you – as you strive for success, there will always be hurdles to face. These hurdles simply slow you down, but that’s all they will do.

5. Plan your life – make a careful schedule for each task to be done. No matter how many tasks there are, each undertaking achieved allows you to cross something off your list of things that have yet to be done.

6. Know that you are in control of your life – have a firmer grip on your responsibilities. Familiarize yourself with each objective and do research if you must. The more you know about something, the easier it will be for you navigate your way through it.

7. Think positive – this may be the most important thing you can ever do. Believe in yourself and in your abilities. You simply have to meet achievers to know that these people are the ones who believe in themselves the most. Success is not so much about talent, but more on the idea that with effort and an optimistic attitude, you can do most anything.

Productive people are those who know what they’re doing. You can be one of them if you simply work on honing your talents and abilities. It’s a matter of fine-tuning and letting yourself be more in touch with the aspects in your life.

Remember, nobody is excused from making mistakes. The fact is, every living person has made many of them. You simply have to figure out what you need to do to attain every single dream that you have.

Positive thinking is powerful thinking. Here’s a look at weaving Optimism And Positive Thinking into success:

People can often be their own worst enemy, especially when they allow their negative feelings to create artificial barriers to achieving their goals, personally and professionally. We see this every day – person A begins talking enthusiastically about a new opportunity and immediately persons B and C shoot the idea down by focusing only on the negative outcomes that could potentially result.

In other cases they allow emotions like anger to cloud their judgment for no other reason than because they take everything that happens too personally. It’s almost as if their egos won’t allow them to miss an opportunity to get upset and start an argument. Coupled with a false sense of indignation they fail to realize that they are actually creating more barriers to resolving whatever the issue may have been in the first place.

While it’s true in nature that opposites attract, in real life nothing could be further from the truth. Positive people tend to draw towards other optimistic people, and of course negative people cluster together like schools of baitfish. The difference between the two groups is that the optimistic ones tend to simply stroll through life knowing that whatever challenges they encounter they will quickly and easily overcome.

A good example of these behaviors is in reviewing two identical technical support requests with diametrically opposite results.

In the first case, the positive customer is experiencing a problem installing a piece of software. Quickly realizing that the problem is beyond their skill level, they call the support hotline confident that resolution to the issue will be forthcoming. They cheerfully and courteously explain the problem they are experiencing and patiently worked with the support staff to correct it, which happens in a mere 10 minutes.

In the second case the negative customer is experiencing a similar problem. Frustrated and angry they call the support hotline and immediately launch into a belligerent tirade about the quality of the product and the company that produced it. While the support staff attempts to help the customer, they quickly become frustrated at the customer’s refusal to provide the needed information.

The customer insists upon escalating problem to a supervisor or manager where the tirade continues. After 45 minutes of arguing with various supervisors and managers and live no resolution in sight, the customer or threatens to sue or file legal complaints and hangs up without resolving the installation problem.

Optimistic people never worried about encountering problems with anything. They understand that things happen, more importantly they also understand that there is a solution out there somewhere. Their goal is to simply resolve the issue as quickly and efficiently as possible, which they know they will be able to do some way, somehow.

It’s for this reason that those who think positively and optimistically are far more likely to be successful in both their business and personal lives. They can’t help but know that everything is going to work out the way they expected to, if not even better.
